Time for an info drop

We got some exciting news to share with you today, so let’s get right to it.

First off, the Reveal Trailer for Cosmic Paradox: Noire is here. It will offer a glimpse of the action across three stages, introduce you to certain enemy types, as well as give you some insight into the theme and setting of this title. This post will act as an extension of the trailer where we will go into more detail regarding everything that was shown.

You can watch the trailer right now by clicking on the image above.

Theme & Setting

Three distinct locations were showcased, each representing a certain point in time of the ongoing war between the Vex Accord and the Oronix Empire.

This will act as a first introduction to each of these stages, but rest assured that you will learn more about all of them down the line.

Verranus

Verranus and its moon, Tessarus, used to be admired for their peaceful beauty. Many travellers stated that they often times felt an overwhelming sense of peace and tranquility  when they would fly past this magnificent duo.

Unfortunately, it would appear that fate indeed loves irony, as Verranus was the first point of contact between the Vex Accord and the Oronix Empire. What once was the very symbol of serenity is now remembered as the origin of inter-dimensional conflict.

Gasyr

Gasyr and its solar system were always a dangerous place. Many unsuspecting explorers met their end across the treacherous asteroid fields that inhabit this hostile environment.

It was for this very reason that this entire section was closed off to the general public multiple decades ago. In an interesting turn of events, Gasyr and its surrounding area proved to be a turning point in the ongoing war.

UCB 765

Not much is known about this volatile unidentified object. Many celestial bodies have manifested themselves out of nowhere since the war began, but UCB 765 is unlike most of them. This mesmerising giant and its local area are a hotspot.

The dimensional breaches in this region are off the charts, with many believing that this exact area was the location of “The First Rift”. This theory has not yet been confirmed, but those who believed this area to be significant were not mistaken.

Enemy Variants

Knowing what you are up against is an essential part of every battle.

We have the first wave of enemy intel that will help you get a head start.

Assault - Nimble fighters that pack decent firepower, but lack resilience. It is usually best to deal with them head one as a couple of well placed shots will do the job, but one must be careful not to get overwhelmed.

Recon - Deadly, but predictable. Although these ships were not primarily designed for combat, they are more than capable of putting up a good fight. Their mobility is limited, but their strong hull and powerful laser make up for it. To further increase their chances of victory, Recon squads always stick together, generally attacking as a single unit.

Bomber - You would be wise to tread carefully when facing even a single Bomber ship, let alone a whole squad. With aggressive movement patterns, high damage and above average defense it would seem like Bombers leave nothing but destruction in their wake. That is very much true, but intel suggests that the speed of these ships is slower compared to the rest. This should allow skilled pilots to maneuver around their bombs while keeping shots on target.

Battleship - This is no ordinary ship. The Oronix Empire will deploy Battleships when some serious firepower is required. Don’t let their limited flight pattern fool you. These machines of war pack a punch. Stronger variations can easily take out Vex accord infantry with a single hit and on top of that, these projectiles have partial lock-on capabilities as well.

Info transmission successful

Well, there you have it, the first info drop for Cosmic Paradox: Noire is now complete.

There will be multiple info drops leading up to launch, so make sure to check back regularly for more content.

We are currently working hard to finalize this project for PlayStation platforms, after which we will look into bringing it to Steam.

Until next time, take care!
